I've Been Tagged

A. The rules of the game are posted at the beginning.
B. Each player answers the questions about themselves.
C. At the end of the post, the player then tags 5 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog.

10 Years Ago (Feb. 1998): I was in pain. I had my knees operated on in early spring of 1999, but during '98, that was painful for me. I was living in Orem and Bill was sick and had a slight stroke. He was out in the backyard when that happened and I was out shopping with Kathy. Geniel was working over in the Peppermint Palace-at the Candy Factory. We had Chow, our big fat Alaskan Chow, and we had Bibs who disappeared when I moved to Idaho. After the knee surgery, Bill was still sick but my knees felt better.

5 Things on my To-Do List today: The day is over, so I'll tell you what I did today:
1. I woke up and went to work crocheting on my baby dress. I made a mistake and had to pull seven rows out to fix it and that's when I said, "That's it, I quit", and I went to see Kathy.
2. Went to the grocery store and bought Valentines for the neighbor kids.
3. I sat and watched Kathy, Holly, and Gena bowl on the Wii. And I tried it myself, and I didn't do too bad.
4. Then I had to come home and take care of my pets, give them their food, take them out to do their duty.
5. Then I started back on the dress and almost got the front part of my dress done. This dress is for one of the twins. Now I took time out from watching SuperNanny to update my blog.

Snacks I enjoy:
1. Crab Salad.
2. Trail Peanutbutter Bars
3. SAM'S Club Flavored Water
4. Anything I can get my hands on--cookies, potato chips, marshmellows, apples, candy.

Things I would do if I were a billionaire:
1. Share it with my kids.
2. Share it with my grandkids.
3. Share it with my great grandkids.
4. Because I probably wouldn't be able to spend it all myself.
5. Give some to R.A.H. on behalf of Geniel.
6. Other than that, having that much money would scare me.
7. Buy a lot of yarn and make lap rests for the senior citizens in the rest home. I like to do that because they like receiving those.
8. Give money to the food kitchens for the homeless.
9. Anything that would be good to give to somebody else that needed it.

3 of my bad habits:
1. Eating candy. If I've got it around, I can't leave it alone.
2. Crocheting instead of cleaning my house.
3. I procrastinate cleaning out the cat litter.

5 places I have lived:
1. Orem, UT for 50 years.
2. Born and raised in Springville, UT
3. We had a farm down in Mount Pleasant, UT for 15 years that we used as a retreat to get away from business.
4. Daegu, Korea
5. Wildflickin, Germany on an Army Post.

5 jobs I have had:
1. We had Bill's Appliance Sales & Service for 16 years.
2. I worked in a Geriatric Rest Home for 2-3 years in Orem.
3. I worked at the State Hospital in Provo for 6 1/2 years before Geniel was born. I was a Phsychiatric Practical Nurse.
4. Before that, I worked at a sewing factory in Provo. When I first got married, I did embroidery work on slips with sewing machines.
5. Before that, I worked Sutton's Cafe as a waitress and hated it. I didn't work very long, maybe six months.
6 And just before I got married, I worked at the Utah Poultry Plant handling eggs. I handled them to check for cracks and blood spots, then I put them in cases and took them to the stores.
7. Then before that I worked in my dad's grocery store cleaning and filling the shelves with food, and I was very young then.
8. Before that I babysat for 10 cents an hour!

5 things people don't know about me:
1. I sewed all my kids clothes when they were born and raised until they got out of high school. I sewed my own clothes, Bill's sports jackets to wear to work, Kathy and Geniel's dresses, and the boys shirts. Tom said he was glad to graduate high school so he could have a new white shirt. I think Kathy got her first bought coat when she graduated Junior High.
2. When I was a little girl, I used to take down the neighbor girl--tackle her down, take off her shoes, and go on home. Her mom would call my mom and tell her to have me bring her shoes back. I only did this a few times, but it was one of those things I remember doing because I really liked her shoes. (I did have shoes of my own)
3. I used to swim down the irrigation ditch for six blocks in Springville. I was young, maybe 6, 7, or 8.
4. In the wintertime, my dad used to put me and my brother Richard on a sleigh hooked to our dog and let our dog take us for a little ride about a mile down the road to my grandpa's house. My grandpa would always meet us at the gate.
5. I used to play the piano and hated it. I took lessons from when I was 8 to 15. Now I couldn't even play a thing.
6. I eloped when I got married. We drove 30 miles away to Heber to get married. We did this because Bill was home on leave from the Army for two days. Nobody knew we did this until we got back home.
7. One year, Bill bought me a wristwatch when we could least afford it. It was a good watch and he suprised me. I still have it.
8. I lost my diamond out of my ring and went without a ring for 17 years, and then one day we went up to the jewelry store to get Bill's watch fixed and he saw this ring and I liked it. I just said, "Ooo, I like that", and he bought it. I asked him why he bought it and he said, "Because you've been wihtout a ring for 17 years and this has got 17 diamonds in it". He wasn't very romantic, but once in a while he surprised me.

Okay, now I tag Jessica (so they will update their blog), Natalie, Kyle, Shelby, and Mary. Although I love all my grandkids.
